A light-node DePIN L1: why phones are first-class citizens on XODE
Xode Team ·
Every blockchain says it wants decentralization; almost every one prices normal people out of it with server-grade validators. XODE takes the opposite bet: the network should grow with the device people already own — the phone.
Layer one is verification. The OMNI app embeds a real light client that syncs XODE block finality from public bootnodes. Phones do not mirror an API — they check the chain themselves, which means the network cannot lie to them.
Layer two is identity. Each phone binds one hardware-backed key — Android Keystore or iOS Secure Enclave, non-extractable by design — to one wallet. Heartbeats are signed against the finalized chain head, so presence cannot be replayed, spoofed or farmed.
Layer three is incentive. Signed, verified presence earns XAV under strict monthly caps — designed so rewards bootstrap the network without collapsing into emission farming.
This is DePIN in its most literal form: decentralized physical infrastructure that people carry in their pockets. Servers made blockchains possible. Phones make them personal.
